Information About Pakistan Television Corporation Limited (PTV)
After the partition, the newly born state of Pakistan required a television service that could broadcast news. Hence, on 26th November 1964, Pakistan Television Corporation was born. The first television station established in Lahore. With the first transmission in black and white effect. Later on, the corporation had set up centers in Karachi and Rawalpindi/Islamabad in 1967. And in Peshawar and Quetta in 1974.
The newly born PTV had housed a staff of 30 employees, working tirelessly to take the company to new heights. As of now, there are more than 6000 workers, divided into 9 groups and having different pay scales.
Since the start, the agenda of this corporation had been educating people through entertainment. This included showing history, heritage, current problems, and development as well as knowledge of the world at large.
